Cannot login with 1.7.10

Hello,

So 1.8 was released (yay) and I started playing with it to test the new features. When I got bored, I quit the game and downgraded to 1.7.10 to play on this server. However, it crashed my game, with the only explanation being "ticking screen". I tried on many versions, 1.7.2-1.7.10 and none of them worked. I wonder if it has to do with the server or if it is client-side.

This must be client side. I would recommend that you make a backup of your single-player worlds (in case there are any that you want to keep), delete the minecraft folder and try again to install from scratch.

Im using 1.7.9 to play on the server. Try that maybe?

Well 1.7.10 is downwards compatible to 1.7.9 and some other versions below if I remember correctly.
