For kicks and giggles- Pluto's Combo Lock
Quote from plutomaster on 2011/03/14, 15:00Since my internet fails at life I find myself with a lot of offline time on my hands~ So i have decided to brush up on my redstone skills. So for today ~ i bring you a cell based, self interlocking, easily programmable, push button driven, 4 states each, repeatable combination lock design. Replicated here 90 times (10 wide by 9 stories) to make a combo lock with 360 different input states in only 90 buttons. Exactly how many combinations that can make is beyond me ~ ask a statistics major.
Basic circuit is a 2 digit binary counter (my own design that i sorta stumbled upon) with a pulser and auto reset built in.
Pics or it didn't happen~

Quote from LavaQBall on 2011/03/14, 15:49That would be a 4 position switch, 90 times. Your possible combinations would be equivalent to 4 to the 9th power.
4 ^ 9 = 262,144 possible combinations.
Very nice looking. ;D
I can easily see why you're an Architect on Uncovery and I have yet to achieve it! :D
P.S.
- And yet, I can't get squid to spawn in my underground pool. :D

Quote from plutomaster on 2011/03/14, 17:10@OSF ohh hands down :3 this doesn't hold a torch to that 128 combo lock XD
@Lvasold hmm squid spawn is fickle i think they have set spawn points since i keep finding them in the same place in the same lakes whenever i go hunting.
@Maerdis LOL i also fail at counting XD its only 10x8 i just realized lol so 4^8 combinations. (having dyslexia is a bish) It could easily be expandable to 90 tho or even 1000. And as for incorporating it~ i think its larger than my tower XD maybe my next lot :P
thanks or the comments ^^

I love redstone, but this is a bit too much of the good stuff.. :PEDIT: Only epic thing left for you to make is a 16/32/64/128bit ALU.. XD
EDIT2: How 'bout I just steal a torch from the circuit and place it right before the door >:D

It's 4 to 90th. 4^90=1.53e+54

^ That's over one and a half septendecillion. ;-)

@lva, Half-asleep or dealing with your kids, 4^90th.... Jeez, my brain just pops looking at possible combinations.
