I have been reading things about shops, account money. What is all this? Real money or in-game? How would I earn it?

Haha this is in-game money. You earn it in multiple ways. You can vote for the server, and sell your goods to other players.

oh, that helps a lot. All I need is to freak out because i just spent 300 dollars, and not know it was in-game.
