So, while running through facebook the other day, I happened to hear a "CLICK! CLICKCLICK MERRRR MERRRR MERRR MERRR". As windows crashed down around me, it dawned on me that the sound was coming from my C: drive.
So for all intents and purposes, it may be awhile before I can get a working gaming computer up and running. :/

Was it a pure hardwarefailure or softwarewise?
Anyhow, any of those take some time one more than the other though...
