As you guys know, I normally never publish names of people’s emails – unless they decide to drag the topic into the public themselves. Well, we are again at the point where someone could not leave an issue be where it was but decided to take it to the next level…

So here is the story: I was looking randomly at the console and see a guy spamming /give commands. So I think “If you think you can try to cheat, I can show you that this stuff does not go unnoticed” and ban him. 10 minutes later I get the first email. Here is the whole conversation:

  • MichaelChopsWood: Why have I been banned from your server?

  • MichaelChopsWood:I thought you were aloud, I thought you wernt aloud the x-ray mod?Am I banned for ever?
  • Me: You are allowed what is on the website.
    The system tells you that you are not allowed to use the /give command on top of that.Yes, you are banned forever.
  • MichaelChopsWood: Can I make an appeal?
  • Me: Let me lay it out to you:
    • You chose a survival lot, NOT a creative one. Still you tried to give yourself items with a command. You tried to cheat. That’s why you got banned.
    • If you thought this was allowed, it means you did not read the website. That’s another issue we ban people for.
    • I am the server owner. I banned you and told you that it is forever. There is no one you could appeal to except myself.
    • You also did not read the website regarding bans.

    Even if you had 10’000 subscribers. Even if you were notch himself.There are however 10’000 other servers out there.
    Go find one for you. Mine is closed for you.

Just hilarious. This is the reason why I still answer those emails.

  2. I don’t get it, did he actually get stuff from that command? and if he didn’t I don’t see the harm in it.

    • No, he did not. But I do not want to have people on the server who spend time just trying to find a weakness to exploit it. If I see that I rather ban them right away instead of waiting until they are successful.

      It’s like someone standing outside your door trying to pick your lock. Either you leave them there, trying and think: “well, he did not get in and steal anything yet”, or you make sure he gets the hell out of there.

  3. Wow, that MichaelChopsWood. What was he thinking? Caught red handed trying to use /give and he creates a story about his “famous” youtube channel. He thinks he can fame his way out of a ban? 212 subs isn’t extraordinary. And if michael had 212 subs he wouldn’t have built a crappy castle. I mean it would make sense if he was part of voxel, but no.

    Seriously michael?

  6. I love how he initially says “this server is rubbish!” then that it was “a good server” when you start commenting. I saw him last night repeatedly relogging in a short amount of time. Wondered if something was up. Good riddance. Makes room for another potential shining star! :)

    • Heh heh heh. he came to my lot once asking if he could build.
      Said no.
      He started whining.
      I left the server and played BF3.
      Came back, whined at me then left.

    • Bahahaha! I remember that! Man, that was so long ago. Guy joined on a hacked client under the name “Notch” and was banned by unco shortly after he got on.

    • Or that he is so stupid that he would ignore a rule, even though he is trying to not be banned for not following another rule? Uh…. huh….. That totally makes sense….

  16. Man he is SO lazy. It shows me he even cant chop wood. That the number ONE step of playing survival in mine craft. He really annoys me. Good work uncovery :) Why should even Micheal even have his own channel, he cant even chop wood. That is the easiest thing to do in mine craft. Maybe his only one subscriber is his family member. And why wont he just store wood instead of just cheating. He also can save some server money and buy some wood. What a lazy guy. Now we have one less annoying person in our hands.
