Item pickup bug

This has happened to me twice, where items are dropped when I mine them, but I cannot pick them up and the image stays on the ground. This caused a loss of items as they seemed to disappear over time. Currently the items have not been too valuable to me, but I'm worried that some day they will.

This isn't anything to worry about. It's actually just a visual glitch. Your character did pick up the items and they are in your inventory.

I would recommend breaking the block beneath it, or relogging. It is a glitch in 1.3 to my understanding.
