Making a Skydiving platform

Sounds off, I guess, but I had the idea yesterday to make use of the Elytra wings. Bear in mind that I haven't played Minecraft in forever, so this was the first time I've built something in a while.
Went with a medieval-themed cluster of sky islands, thought it turned out good!
Here's what I have so far:

Not to downplay this idea, its wonderful! Only issue is that something prevents Elytra from allowing you to glide past 1 chunk, for now. Don't expect to make this, jump off, and have it go smoothly, for now.
I believe one day it will be fixed :)
