My balloon contest entry

So I decided to make a story to my entry! Hope you like it! Sorry for the length. I couldn't stop myself typing :D
Also: Starring Uncoverian nation, HenMeister, and his lots! (I'll probably edit this a bit)

(Ominous music starts playing)
As a little boy growing up, I was always interested in Archaeology. I would always here stories of an advanced ancient city of Minecraftia. My grandpa said the city was a Minecraftia superpower. They would dominate every civilization in their way if it kept them in power. The citizens had developed very very advanced technology. For example, pistons that could push a whole wall down! Or highly developed flying machine that could take them blockyears away! The race of very smart people were called the Snowmen.

But one day a whole fleet of flying machines were sent out by General Pumpkinhead to take over the developing city of Uncovery. The fleet of ships underestimated the powers that Uncoverians had developed in secret chambers underground. They were all shot down. Most were destroyed, but some were kept for experiments in special holding cells.

Sadly, shortly afterwards, both civilizations would be destroyed by a horrifying earthquake. Damage was extensive, as most buildings were made of wood and would catch on fire. It is said that the whole civilization of Uncovery was gone. All people gone. But only a few Snowmen made it out alive. Most migrated to different areas. But before they did that, they took back their damaged ships and stored them away in places nobody would guess. The small group of people promised never to tell anyone of this and would split up to live their own lives. Most migrated west and became nomads of the great plains. Some to the more densely populated North, where they could live safely among the others. But, the group had fallen victim to a horrible disease, and shortly died. The civilizations would never be discovered. ~Until now~

I was a brave man. Always looked forward to the future and what lies ahead for my career in archaeology. I went to the University of Undiscovered Civilizations to train in finding forgotten cities of Minecraftia. Hearing all the stories growing up, influenced me to find them.

One day I set out in the far North of Minecraftia, as this is where the last known place of the Snowmen were said to be found.(http://i.imgur.com/JeSF7.png) I found a small mound among the mountains which interested me.(http://i.imgur.com/i8U1K.png) It was very round, and dome like. I decided to start digging with my team. (http://i.imgur.com/7ArW1.png) For two weeks we had found nothing but old sentiment and dirt dating back many thousand years ago. I thought to myself that the aging of the rock was at a correct time period of which the two ancient civilizations were documented. We were running low on supplies, so we stopped digging. The team and I were near of returning to home, but we decided to stick it out for two more days. For two nights I did not sleep. I would sit up scratching my head and was restless. I suddenly thought of something. The rock we found was 10 years after the civilizations were destroyed. So we kept digging and digging and digging...

Two days later...
Tuesday, 1, Jan, 1556. Morning.
We hit something metallic in the ground. There was a large "DING!" and it seemed to echo throughout the ground. We don't know what it is, or what it could be, but it has started to create a moaning sound. We also hear the sound of gears turning, and possibly an engine???

Afternoon:
We continued the dig. I couldn't believe my eyes. We were looking at at a snowman like machine with some sort of propulsion system.(http://i.imgur.com/mNUCt.png) (http://i.imgur.com/fQtBZ.png) It was about 20x20x28 in size. There's a small basket hanging from the bottom of it.(http://i.imgur.com/MJYOK.png) It's like nothing I've seen before. It is far more advanced then the technology we have nowadays. Then I thought to myself. "Could this possibly be the flying machine the Snowmen civilization had created?" (http://i.imgur.com/N6Y8o.png) (http://i.imgur.com/2bTgp.png) (http://i.imgur.com/2Myu3.png)

Evening:
I came to a conclusion. This was the machine I had heard stories about growing up. Now that I think about it, there were dead remains around it. These would be the protectors of the ship. I have to get this back to the office. But there was no way I could possibly move it without some sort of blueprint or manual telling me how to use it. I climbed into the basket. (http://i.imgur.com/GCkhq.png) There was some sort of button. If I pressed it it could self destruct, or possibly start up and fly away. I decided not to press it. Instead I documented the machine. I would become famous. I would be a world renown archaeologist. I thought this was a dream, but it was completely real life. I decided not to tell anyone. The crew followed my decision. I would continue to research it, until I could figure out how it works. It seems as if everything works, but I don't want to be to fast on turning it on.

Day 10: I don't know what happened. A cave ceiling had collapsed under the machine. Impressively the machine stayed afloat. But there was another problem. Silverfish were pouring out of the cave, as well as snowmen! (http://i.imgur.com/se0Lz.png) ( (Screaming) "Run!!! We need to leave this place now! Everybody get out now!" All of sudden a small figure appeared in the basket.(http://i.imgur.com/MqSTi.png) It was a Snowman. I could not believe it. The historians had been wrong. The civilization had not died off. But I had other things to worry about right now. All of sudden there was a loud screeching noise, followed by some sort of buzzing. The machine's gears started turning and the basket started spinning. All of sudden I was blind. I passed out. 4 hours later I woke up to see all my crew mates dead. I was very lucky to survive the blast. The dust cleared, and the machine was gone. I do not know what happened. But the last thing I heard was someone saying "I have returned to rule Minecraftia!" All my notes were gone as well. The figures had stolen everything. I had no knowledge of what else to do. I was not trained for this. I started the long hike back home....

Conclusion: I pondered it for weeks, and came to one final conclusion. The books had it wrong. The civilization had protected the ships and were waiting for them to be unearthed so they could rule Minecraftia again. I wen't to get the mail and found a note that said:

"We know who you are and where you live. There is no place to hide. We have come to rule Minecraftia again. If you are wondering where we are, we are 128 blocks south of you. We have found a hidden power source under the buildings of HenMeister. This is the last thing we need to rule the lands again. Good luck puny human figure! Hahahahahha"

I fell to my knees, not knowing what to do. HenMeister is one of my dearest friends. All of sudden the sky turned a bright white. I could not take the brightness of the sky. I grasped my ears screaming. The screech was too strong. I could not stand anything else. Then everything wen't dark and quiet. I don't know what happened. Seconds later there was an explosion. If you are reading this, I am dead. Minecraftia is in desperate need of a leader to overtake the Snowmen race. I have chosen you to be the leader, as no one else is left. You are very lucky to be alive. Take pride and honor in your civilization and build up enough strength to win the war. Good luck.

*evil laugh here*

Awesome story! I really enjoyed reading it :D

Wow.. just wow... Very impressive story here. I've got to give you some props for this.

Very interesting story! I had fun reading it. :) and yay for snowman balloons! :D

Thanks! I just thought of all of that off the top of my head too. I actually figured I'm a pretty good story writer :D I'll look forward to making more in the future.
