I had set-up flowing lava to stop blaze spawning before the big roll-back, and it was working fine. The only problem is that although blazes would stop spawning, there were always a couple of blazes that would get stuck in the lava holes when lava was off (I didn't know about the pressure plate trick), and would then climb the lava when the lava was on, like zombies do with water.. then they would stay at the top of the lava flows and throw fireballs when I entered the place.
