New nether ore coming… So a nether reset would be.up, too.

The latest snapshot is up and there is a new nether ore in there. The one way to get that ore would be a nether reset.

I know that we had this discussion before and I got some pretty emotional email regarding this topic. However this time I do not think there is a way around this.

  1. Well… i suppose this was bound to happen at sometime. I’m looking forward to a fresh nether :)

  3. If we gotta do it we gotta do it… I had to look for a double blaze spawner for weeks, but that was my choice. I’m kool with resetting the nether. We will need to so that we can get the nether quartz.

  4. With all the redstone additions in the next update, do you plan on removing the 10min despawn on minecarts? This new redstone stuff makes storage carts a lot more useful. With the 10min despawn it will remove most, if not all the use for these carts.

    • I do not think so. I do not want to have people running minecarts forever and idling along them. It causes lag and ruins the server for the people who are actually online doing stuff. While I think it’s great what you can do with redstone etc, I am not a friend of unattended automation. In the end you can just build a machine that plays minecraft for you and you go watch a movie.

        Haha! Good idea, Unc. However artificial intelligence has not advanced enough to do this. Plus, who would trust a robot to play Minecraft for them? You also can’t experience the joy of mingling with others.

  7. Sounds good to me since you have to walk for a really long time to get Glowstone at the moment and Nether Quartz sounds nice to have. Blazefarms can be newly found and rebuilt.

  9. I’m fine with it, in fact I was looking forward to the first reset. I’ll just take apart my community netherwart farm and I’ll be fine.

  11. Echo you can grow netherwart any where now, not just in the nether.

    • i’m all for resetting the nether, but not because there’s “no” glowstone. There’s no easy glowstone, big difference.
