As announced before, I will remove the skylands. I made the decision now to remove it latest end of this year. So you have until 31st Dec 2012 to move to the aether. I can help you move builds to a skylands lot. I will NOT move the whole landscape etc, and I will not move every single cobblestone hut. If you have any relevant build that you want me to move, send talk to me in-game or send a ticket to me with the following info:

We built a wither arena now. You can go to spawn and then type /warp witherarena.

You will arrive in a safe room where you can gather. There you can go down a water hole and then walk over (follow the signs) to the wither spawn box. In that box, you can build a wither. In the rest of the arena building is disabled. This is the only place in on the whole server where you can actually build a wither. You can go in there with as many people as you like.

Please do not barge in on people killing the wither. Check if the people fighting it allow you to join before you steal their kill. If someone spawns a wither however and fails to kill it, anyone else coming to the arena while nobody is in there can have it. you cannot claim it for the next 3 days just because you do not have time to kill it.

If that rule fails, there is one possible addition: We can create a system so that people create a team that will fight the wither and that will block everyone outside the team from entering the arena for a certain time (Let’s say 1 hour). This is quite a lot of work, so I will do that only if it is necessary.

I have made the following decision:

If a kingdom lot gets abandoned for whatever reason (exceptions in extreme cheat/fraud cases may happen), lot members may buy the lot for a 50% discount.

If none of the members wants to have it, other users can buy it for the full price. If nobody wants it, it will get reset. To do the transfer, send me an email or support ticket and make sure that your account balance covers the costs.

Since starcaftmaster was banned, we are faced now with an issue about how to deal with projects that had several members contributing in a larger way when the owner of the lot abandons the lot or also gets banned. Here are the main points:

• If someone gets banned for hacking, cheating, Xray, there is an issue since parts of the materials going into the build have been gotten through illicit means. Should the lot then be just reset even if the contents of the builds have been contributed by many?
• If someone abandons their lot willingly or by absence, or get’s banned for other reasons (such as bad behavior), what to do with the lot then?

My proposal would be to give them away for sale again to interested parties – in any case to any previous member of the build only, for the normal price. Specially lots that have been worked on for a long time, with many members, would be quite a pity to just delete.

I have reset the server since we had issues with a new version of the lot reset tool. I could successfully reset the server to backups taken less than an hour ago.

We will try to fix the issue, until then lot resets will be frozen.

I removed the player list and the deposit list on login now. Instead you now see a list of the active contests and those who are voted on.

Since we hit our max level users for the first time, we need to start a thinning program that will reduce our user base back to an acceptable level.

So along with the random promotions of this month, I now introduce random bans! We will start at the higher levels first and work ourselves down to the guest level. If you get banned and promoted in the same month, you get a diamond block as a souvenir on the way!

Also, from December on I will use a tool that scrapes off usernames from other minecraft servers and ban them proactively before they even join the server.If you have relatives, class mates or friends that you want to have banned before they get the idea to join this server, please do not hesitate to propose them in the new “ban-a-friend” program that we will launch soon!

Other hack-like activities that will get you insta-banned from now on:

• Walking more than 3 blocks/sec
• Mining a stone block after mining 10 dirt blocks
• laying a perfect right angle of redstone dust anywhere
• pushing any button more than 2x
• hitting any mob more than 2x in the exact same spot
• trying to put more things into a chest than would fit
• trying to walk through a closed door

please propose other meaningful ban-reasons so that we can take the load of the server!

Since last time apparently nobody actually read what I wrote in the body of the post, I assume that if I put it in the header, it will work.

Dear all,

it’s my great pleasure to announce that by today, we are two years up and running, with very few exceptions! Sure, we had some smaller roll-backs, our share of jerks and annoyances of all shape and form, but history proves us right:

Over the 2 years, we managed NOT to build an ant hill of griefers and whiners, but rather we managed together to build a sustainable community that re-news and re-invents itself to grow and prosper. Thanks to the help of all users who actively contribute in builds, discussions, ideas, we tried many different plugins, worlds, rules, contests and so much more and kept what was successful and parted (sometimes with some pain) from what was not.

A huge thanks to all of you who kept my work on the server enjoyable, thanks to the masters and elders in their support getting rid of the jerks and alerting me of bugs and other issues. Also thanks of course to our resident coder Azkedar who made my life so much easier and without whose contribution I would have been forced to limit the server size.

To celebrate, we will continue with this progress and improve the server even further. For starters we already had the contest. To continue, we will introduce a new user level that shall bridge between Architect and Master: The “Designer” Level. The Designer level will pretty much fall in all aspects between those aforementioned levels, details still to come on the website.

Further, for celebration we will promote one user every day of the month to the respective next level, many of those to the new designer level. We will start with the lowest rank in no particular order and end on the top. I might not have time every day at the same time for the promotions since I am very busy in November, but I will catch up for sure!

So the promotion for today is Vixengold to the level of Architect! Congratz!
