New Item Frame protection

Since item frames were destroyable with arrows, I installed another protection. Now it’s impossible for anyone to destroy an item frame. To remove it, destroy the block the item frame is on instead. The frame will pop off and the item in the frame will drop, too.

Anniversary contest now open for voting! [Update!]

I have copied all the entries to the city so you can see them and fly around. To vote, you can now go on the voting page and start voting! In order to see the contest entries, do a /warp anniversary to be teleported to the contest entries. they are on both sides of the street. Each entry has a sign at the nearest entrance to show who built it.

All contest builds that have not been submitted on the website have already been dismantled and the blocks can be found in the builder’s deposit box. I will be refunding the other contest entries to the submitters soon.

Random bans start today!

Since we hit our max level users for the first time, we need to start a thinning program that will reduce our user base back to an acceptable level.

So along with the random promotions of this month, I now introduce random bans! We will start at the higher levels first and work ourselves down to the guest level. If you get banned and promoted in the same month, you get a diamond block as a souvenir on the way!

Also, from December on I will use a tool that scrapes off usernames from other minecraft servers and ban them proactively before they even join the server.If you have relatives, class mates or friends that you want to have banned before they get the idea to join this server, please do not hesitate to propose them in the new “ban-a-friend” program that we will launch soon!

Other hack-like activities that will get you insta-banned from now on:

  • Walking more than 3 blocks/sec
  • Mining a stone block after mining 10 dirt blocks
  • laying a perfect right angle of redstone dust anywhere
  • pushing any button more than 2x
  • hitting any mob more than 2x in the exact same spot
  • trying to put more things into a chest than would fit
  • trying to walk through a closed door

please propose other meaningful ban-reasons so that we can take the load of the server!

P.S.: If you think this is not a joke, please ban yourself for lack of humor.

Bug List

Here is a list of bugs that I have found since the upgrade. I will expand this as I find more:

  • Netherportals from the Nether to the darklands are broken. Made a bug report. Bug was confirmed by someone else.
  • Old letters do not work anymore. I guess we cannot change that. Please write new ones :D

changes I made:

  • potions are now disabled in the city and flatlands
  • it’s impossible to make iron golem farms now. If you have one, please try if it still works and tell me if it does.
  • there is now a limit on breeding animals of 50 per lot. check /headcount please

 

Upgraded to 1.4.2! But what about the wither?

I just upgraded the server to 1.4.2!
The upgrade includes SEVERAL beta/dev version plugins.
I will be updating everything continuously as new versions of the components come out, but from my testing all should be fine.
If you find a bug or exploit that you can reproduce, please post here.

Regarding building the wither, I now disabled that in all worlds. The question is where to enable it so that beacons can be made.
I can enable/disable the wither only per world, not per lot. Shall I just enable it in the nether?

Deej20 just banned for griefing

After some people hinted to me that Deej20 was a griefer, and we have been researching on his username, we found out that he poses on other servers as a blond, 17 year old canadian girl while he is clearly not a girl in teamspeak and has a different picture there, too.

So the picture here on teamspeak that he is using is this. Not sure which one of the two he is, though. Looks like two brothers to me. Same nose, same mouth.

On two other sites he is using those two images here:

He was was banned from several other servers already. Today he griefed some house in spawn right in front of my eyes (I was invisible). So he is banned from the server and team speak now.
